First-world problem here. I ’ve given up on the CL flakes and decided to buy from a retailer. However, this is going to cost me a little more than I expected. They didn’t have any returned 1070 Ti cards, so do I go with a returned 1080 or do I buy a new 1070 Ti? The price is about the same.
It seems kind of silly dropping over $400 on a video card for a $200 computer, but whatever. I figure I can move it to a newer machine later.

Is the warranty the same for the returned cards? If so then get returned cards.

I go with the 1080 (probably). If it works out of the box, it will probably keep working. This stuff normally doesn’t just die. If it doesn’t work out of the box, return it and try again.

In that case you need to go find yourself a Voo doo.

Allow me to give the minority opinion: get a Radeon Vega.

I practically live at microcenter, that place is truly awesome. If there was a 1080 ti that was returned I would go with that but out of those two options I would probably go with the 1070.

I was contemplating that, by the Hackintosh portion of this computer is all set up to use Nvidia and without doing a lot of research I'm not sure how well a Vega will work in my system.

1080 ti FTW

Apple uses AMD in their stuff so it's probably easier to set up than an Nvidia build.

Would be nice, but I can’t justify the expense. I bought the returned 1080, and not only was it reasonable there was also a $20 mail-in rebate...

I understand. The 1080 is also really amazing!
I just put a water cooler on my 1080 ti. Played a couple hours of Destiny 2, hit 51 degrees C. So nice....

Maybe you should return it and get the 1180 that will be out shortly. G DDR6 and more of it!
